Dr Nitin Yashas is a consultant in Medical Oncology and Hemato-oncology. He completed his Doctorate of National Board (DrNB) in Medical Oncology from Manipal Hospital where he was not only acquainted with the management of chemotherapy but also advanced therapeutic options like Immunotherapy & Targeted therapy apart from the management of oncologic emergencies. Dr Nitin Yashas completed his MBBS and his post-graduation in internal medicine (MD) from St John’s Medical College. He is also a quizmaster and a public speaker.

He is part of Alter doctor- a platform for doctors and medical students to represent themselves with the aim to enlighten and empower. He is fervent about the usage of social media in extending his knowledge and understanding of health-related subjects and has made multiple online videos and has been invited to partake in webinars conducted by prestigious institutions such as the Rotary Club, Press Bureau of India, etc.
He has expertise in the management of all Solid malignancies like Lung cancer, Breast Cancer, Kidney Cancer, Colon Cancer, Prostate cancer, Gynaecological malignancies, Gastrointestinal cancers, etc, and Hematolymphoid malignancies (Blood cancers) such as Myeloma, Leukaemia, and Lymphomas. Dr Nitin practises the most delinquent evidence-based medicine and believes in a complete holistic multidisciplinary approach to a patient. He strongly advocates the aphorism “Prevention is better than cure” and actively advises screening for early detection of different types of cancers and identification of genetic cancer syndromes. His areas of Interest comprise Targeted therapy, Immunotherapy, Molecular Oncology, and Personalised medicine. . He has proposed award-winning research papers at various national conferences. His research paper on predictive factors in treatment with immunotherapy and checkpoint inhibitors was one of the only few Indian papers presented at the prestigious European Society of Medical Oncology’s (ESMO) Immuno-Oncology conference held in Geneva, Switzerland in 2019.
